The United States educational system is always changing and rapidly at that. The United States has always been seen as the country with the lowest educational experience. As educational instructors it should be our job to want to change that, and to claim the thrown as one of the best places to go, to get an education. The best way for this to happen is for instructors, to care about their students, fellow co-workers, their job, and the ability for others to learn.
Core Beliefs:
· Student: I believe the best way for students to learn is to be able to interact with the teachers, faculty, and other student. This concept is the most important to me because without this belief that students cannot feel comfortable talking to others, than their ability to learn would be much lower than usual.
· Teacher: I believe the role of the teacher should be; the teacher, the parent, and the friend of the student. First the teacher should always be the teacher, because that is what they are there to do. Teachers teach to give students that all so important education, that is needed in everyday life. Second the teacher is the parent, when the student is away from home. This does not mean that the teacher has to financially provide for the student, but this means the teacher has to follow the rules of “In Loco Parentis.” This is the idea that in any situation that the teacher acts as the parent for a student that may need it. The third role of the teacher is to be a friend. This is not a friend as in telling secrets to, or going to watch a movie; but rather a friend that a student can confide in if needed. Teachers should have that sense of emotions to be open, and willing to talk to students, and advise them whenever needed.
· Classroom: I believe the classroom should be a place of learning. Not only should the classroom be a place of learning, it should also make ALL students feel safe and welcome regardless of the teacher, or other students presences. This goal of an open, and welcome learning classroom can be achieved with great classroom management, and being unbiased towards all students, and all backgrounds. The school classroom should be an environment that is in some way special to every single student.
